Korea Spycam Porn: 1,600 Fall Victim And Four Men Arrested

South Korea is one of the most well-developed countries in the world today, and the people there enjoy modern technologies, including high-speed Internet. However, the country has banned the creation and spreading of porn on its territory, trying to create a healthier society. It seems that watching porn online is not a crime until the movies were made in another country and provided on an overseas resource. But the South Koreans themselves are not allowed to do such activity.

Yet, those who want quick money have found another way to make it. Four men who are already arrested and wait for the trial, have maintained 1 mm hidden cam devices in about 30 hotels, including hotel rooms and bathrooms there. The cameras were maintained in the mirrors, and in different usual utensils like TVs and hair dryers.

As a result, the criminals have filmed about 1,600 people staying in these hotel rooms, bathing, having sex and stuff, and then the criminals created a website to upload these videos. The website could not be found quickly because they made it on an overseas server. On the platform, the visitors could watch 30 seconds of the video for free, or pay for privileged access. According to police, the men could earn about $6000 for the videos.

Today, if the men are convicted, they are to pay a considerable fine to the government, and also serve about 10 years in prison. This is a fair punishment since a lot of people fell victims to their criminal activity.

South Korea states that such fraudulent activity is not always pursued by criminals with the aim of making money. A lot of people upload sex videos of their ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends out of revenge. Other types of videos are made secretly by people in public places for their own pleasure but eventually leak to the web.

The people of South Korea are very worried about this trend and demand the authorities to provide more severe punishments. The worst aspect is that the majority of those on the hidden cam videos and also in the revenge videos are women. Criminals filming in the hotel were primarily looking for women because the viewers of the websites with spy cams are mostly men. On the other hand, men are the majority of users making videos of their sex partners only to later upload them to the web. So society is outraged.

Yet, South Korea shows a good trend for making really serious punishments for violation of its laws, and this can be seen in almost all spheres of life. Therefore, everybody can expect that soon, the law will be improved and criminals will face more severe consequences of spy filming. Meanwhile, a lot of volunteers organize events and projects to help those women who become the victim of spy cams. This is an important initiative because several women who appeared on revenge porn sites took their own lives out of shame and stigma.
